San Diego Search Marketer Marks Fourth Anniversary
Covario Continues to Grow at Double-Digit Pace from Garage Beginnings to New Carmel Valley Offices
SAN DIEGO, May 12, 2010 – Covario, Inc., a leader in search and display advertising software and agency services for Forbes Global 2000 companies, is celebrating its fourth anniversary today.
The San Diego-based company has been on a fast track, growing at double-digit (and then some) rates ever since co-founders Dema Zlotin and Russ Mann, the CEO, launched the firm with $6 million in venture funding above a garage for charging electric cars on El Cajon Blvd.
Today, the company has more than 125 employees, including about 80 at its new Carmel Valley headquarters. The firm has a number of employees who work with clients around the world, as well as another 25 in Madison, Wis., since acquiring Netconcepts, LLC in January.
Last week, Mann was named among 15 finalists by Ernst & Young for its annual Entrepreneur of the Year awards in San Diego. Covario was recently cited as one of the nation’s top 100 privately-held, “on-demand” software companies by the AlwaysOn consulting group. The company was also ranked among the top 25 search agencies by Advertising Age in its annual agency report.
The company is currently running a campaign on its website at www.covario.com around the theme, “Accelerate your SEO,” which addresses how Covario can help companies efficiently improve their search marketing performance. The program is designed to show how brands that have yet to invest in advanced search techniques can quickly get up to speed with the help of an SEO website audit, an educational webinar on search and complimentary white papers, including one reporting on how leading multichannel marketers are performing in search.
In keeping with the campaign, Covario employees will be celebrating the firm’s fourth anniversary today by racing go karts around the K1 Speed track nearby in Carlsbad.
“Given our campaign theme along with our rapid growth, it was only natural to invite all of our employees – even the ones from Wisconsin – to get in their go karts and accelerate around the track today,” Mann said. “It’s a great way to thank the team, while staying laser-focused on what it takes to help our clients win the race in online marketing.”
Mann said he expects the firm to grow at an even faster double-digit rate in 2010 than it did during last year’s recession.
