IPG Moves Company Headquarters
Consolidation at 909 Third Ave Marks Third HQ in Company History
New York, NY – December 14, 2015 – Interpublic Group (NYSE: IPG) today announced that it is moving its company headquarters to 909 Third Avenue, New York, NY. This marks only the third headquarters in the holding company’s 54 year history. From the founding of the company in 1961 through 2004, IPG’s offices were located in the Time Life Building at Rockefeller Center. For the last decade, IPG has made its home in midtown Manhattan’s Grace Building. The move to 909 Third Avenue will see corporate headquarters sharing an address with more than a dozen IPG agencies including DeVries, FutureBrand, Genuine, Golin, Jack Morton, Octagon, Rogers & Cowan and Weber Shandwick. IPG corporate will occupy floors 23, 24 and 25.
In the newly built-out reception area of the IPG floors, the company will showcase creative work from its advertising and communications firms using an innovative media wall created by IPG digital marketing agency Genuine. The media wall features award-winning global work from a range IPG brands, including Deutsch, FCB, Huge, The Martin Agency, McCann, Mullen Lowe, R/GA, Weber Shandwick, and others. Genuine developed the interactive experience using Microsoft Kinect technology and a custom software application.

The move also serves to increase efficiencies and represents significant cost savings for our company over the next 12 years. Equally important, our new headquarters sets an example for environmental sustainability – the building and our space have received an Energy Star Award and are LEED Certified; we’ll recycle over three-quarters of all refuse and electronics in the new space; and we can monitor our energy consumption in real-time. All of these factors are good for our clients, our employees, and our shareholders,” Mr. Roth concluded.
909 Third Avenue has been designated a LEED-Silver Certified Building. The company’s building management has also launched a trademarked Energy Information Portal, a tool that enables tenants to monitor their energy usage. IPG has recently become the first U.S.-based ad holding company to sign on to the U.N. Global Compact, and is always seeking ways to further its efforts in sustainability.
